Aqua America: NYSE Symbol: WTR; Industry: Aqua's history dates back to January 4, 1886 when a group of Swarthmore College professors were granted a charter to supply water to the residents of Springfield Township, Delaware County. The professors were previously part of an association that included Swarthmore residents who had abandoned their wells in favor of nearby spring water. They built a small pumping station and laid pipes to their homes. Initially, new customers were welcomed openly, but as the number of potential customers increased, so did the association’s operating responsibilities. It was then that the association made the decision to incorporate. This company was known as Springfield Water Company.; Comments: A winning balance sheet and impressive growth.
PP&L Resources, Inc.: NYSE Symbol: PPL; Industry: PP&L Resources provides electrical service to about 1.2 million homes and businesses throughout a 10,000-square-mile area in 29 counties in central eastern Pennsylvania.
Hershey Foods Corporation: NYSE Symbol: HSY; Industry: Chocolates, Food Products.; Comments: This has been one of the best performing stocks (not to mention the best chocolate).
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.: NYSE Symbol: WMT; Industry: Wal-Mart is the world's largest retailer, operating about 2,000 Wal-Marts and more than 400 Sam's Clubs in the US.
